Lipid and Protein Content in Rainbow Trout in Relation to Gonadal Growth

Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine various lipid classes as well the protein content in rainbow trout ovaries. A total 80 samples Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum 1792) were collected from Kokernag and Verinag hatcheries (Jammu Kashmir, India) between 2017 2019. mature stage female fish had highest gonadosomatic index (GSI) minimal GSI spent stage. Higher ovary reported during (36%), compared other pre-breeding stages. Similarly, also showed fluctuation development ovary. classes, i.e. glycolipids, free fatty acids, cholesterol triglycerides, a higher stage, while phospholipid than developmental provides reference values for biochemical parameters that could be useful population monitoring programs diets management methods production under controlled conditions.
